Philatelic Society of Rajasthan
The Philatelic Society of Rajasthan (1st Registered Society -Regn No. 34 Jpr/89-90 under Co-operative Act in Rajasthan) founded in 1989, currently has over 120 Life Members and 1000 Annual and Associate Members. The Society actively works towards widening the scope of Philately, facilitating effective networking, building awareness as well as working closely with GPOs to ensure the field continues to thrive.
Some of the activities conducted are:
Exhibitions : Successfully conducted Three State and One National Level Philatelic Exhibition by the Name of ‘Envipex’ and ‘Sciencepex’ in Co-Operation of Environment Department & Science Department, Government of Rajasthan. PSR also regularly conducts Inter School Stamp Exhibition -Schoolpex every year at St. Xavier’s School since 1996. Exhibitions organised by Department of Posts in Rajasthan are fully organised with co-operation of PSR.
PSR Bulletin : Regular Bi- Monthly Bulletin distributed to all members, Philatelic Societies of India as well as Eminent Philatelists of India. This bulletin contains all necessary information of Philately to update members.
Workshops : Giving Speeches and Demonstrations with help of Audio Visual Aids to introduce Philately among general public specially Students and new Philatelists . Free literature and Stamps are distributed in Workshops in Schools to educate children about Philately. These worshops have been conducted not only for students in prestigious Educational Institutes like St. Xavier’s School , Maharani Gayatri Devi School of Jaipur or Mayur School , affiliate of Mayo College , Ajmer etc but also for Department of Posts Personnel for their better understanding of Philatelists need .
Displays : Displays for General awareness through Philately is regularly conducted at various occasions. Important Display includes Topics of Cricket, Drug Control, Prevention of Aids, Environment Conservation, World Peace etc
Participation : Helping its members to participate in International, National, State, Regional and District level Exhibitions. Members have won award up to Gold Medal at International levels and brought laurels to country.
The Philatelic Society of Rajasthan is open to any suggestions and feedback shared by esteemed philatelists across the country. Therein, not just members but any philatelist who needs help with related activities or needs any information or wants to conduct an event, they are welcome to contact the society and the needful support will be provided
